We care about your music, not your data. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you stay in control. It's written in real language because nobody wants to decode legal jargon.

We're based in Texas but available worldwide.
What We Collect
Melodaze keeps things simple. When you sign in with Discogs, we collect:
- Your email address and username from Discogs
- Your Discogs collection data (albums, records, etc.)
- Listening activity that you generate inside the app (for features like scrobbling to Last.fm)
That's it — no hidden trackers, no personal questionnaires, no weird "consent" pop-ups asking for your blood type.
How We Use It
We only use your data to:
- Power the features you use (collection syncing, scrobbling, recommendations)
- Understand how people use Melodaze so we can make it better
We use Fathom Analytics, which doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across the web, and doesn't collect personal info.
We don't:
- Sell, rent, or share your data
- Send ads or marketing emails
- Do creepy cross-app tracking
Cookies? Only the ones that keep you logged in. They're strictly necessary.
Data Storage and Security
Melodaze runs on Heroku. Your data is:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Stored securely and never shared outside the app
You can delete your account and all associated data anytime from the Settings screen, or by emailing support@melodaze.app.
We don't currently have a timed data-retention policy, but we'll honor any deletion request quickly.
Legal Bits
Melodaze is for adults (13+).
We comply with privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA, though our footprint is minimal.
If you're in the EU or elsewhere and want to access, correct, or delete your data — just email us.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, we'll let you know in-app and update the "last modified" date above.
